Online Store

A subset of GE's products are available for sale at the online store. Here is how to use it:


STEP 1: Access the online store.


The URL for the GE Water & Process Technologies Online Store is http://watersource.gewater.com/. The store can also be accessed from the "Online Store" link on the Customer Portal.

Note - Except for MSDS access -- which is open to all -- GE Water & Process Technologies' online store and other special online tools are provided only to trusted GE customers and partners. As such, before logging on for the first time, you will need to have registered. Learn how to register here.

Note - If you registered with GE in the past and have an existing "SSO" username, click on the "Modify existing account" link from the login screen. After accepting the terms and conditions, login with your existing GE SSO ID and password and tell us what tools you'd like to access.

Note - Currently the online store feature is open to United States and Canada customers only.

When the store appears onscreen, you will be in "Guest Mode", which allows you to browse some items but not buy them. It is strongly suggested that you log on as soon as the home page appears (see image below).

Home View

The Log On button is in the upper right as well as under the welcome banner near the top.

Type in your username (SSO) and password and click "Login". Once you are returned to the home page of the store, you will have full access to the site. Don't have a username? Learn how to register here


STEP 2: Access the products you want to purchase. Put them into your shopping cart.


There are two ways to find products on the store:

  1. Use the site's navigation menus.
  2. Use the site's search feature.

Choose the option you are most comfortable with.

Navigation

  1. Choose the appropriate category in the left menu under "Products Available Online".
  2. Continue to drill down into sub-categories until you find the item you want to purchase.
  3. Click the icon to learn more about a product, including lead time.
  4. When you have narrowed things down to the item you want to purchase, enter an item quantity into the "Order Qty" column.
  5. Click "Add to Cart" to put the item in your shopping cart. It is possible to add several items at once.
  6. Click here to learn how to complete your purchase.

About "Favorites"
The Favorites feature allows you to save items that you order frequently for ease of access. Click here to learn more about favorites.

Search

  1. Type in a search term using the search box in the upper left corner. If you are on the home page of the site, you can also perform your search in the "Find Products" area:



    Note - the "Find Products" area on the home page offers several features not found in the search area in the upper left. In addition to the product search, you will find the option to search on web orders (using the "Web Order ID" option) and even offline orders using the "Order" option (use your SAP order ID).


  2. After you click "search", a list of products matching your query appears.
  3. Click the icon to learn more about a product, including lead time.
  4. When you have found the item you want to purchase, enter an item quantity into the "Order Qty" column.
  5. Click "Add to Cart" to put the item in your shopping cart. It is possible to add several items at once.

Advanced search tips:

Multi-Word Searches
When entering multiple words, an 'or' search is peformed by default. Searching for 'water reagent' is the same as searching for 'water or reagent'. A product will appear in the search results if it contains the word 'water' OR the word 'reagent' anywhere in it (the words do not need to be in sequence). This includes the extended description of the product. To search for both words, type 'and' between the search terms: 'water and reagent'. A product will appear in the search results if it contains both the word 'water' AND the word 'reagent' anywhere in it.

Partial-Word Searches
Partial word searches are supported without need for a wild card (*) Search: 'purg' will return products with 'purg' as part of any text string such as 'Purge'.

For keyword searches, use several words
If you type in a general topic word you are likely to receive hundreds or even thousands of hits. A search for 'FLT', for example, will return more than 3500 hits. Searching on 'FLT and PPC' or a model number will result in fewer products returned. Note that you can combine various phrases into one search to improve your results.

Web Order ID Search
You can change the search criteria and search on prior web orders. To do so, go to the 'Find Products' area (on the online store's homepage) and change the 'Search by' dropdown to 'Web Order'. Enter your order ID and the search results will show all products placed on that order.

Order Search
You can change the search criteria and search on any prior order whether placed via the online store or not. To do so, go to the 'Find Products' area (on the online store's homepage) and change the 'Search by' dropdown to 'Order'. Enter your SAP order ID and the search results will show all products placed against that order which are available for sale online.


STEP 3: Complete the purchase.


After you add an item to your cart, the background color of the item on the page will turn gray. At this point, you can continue shopping for more items or proceed to checkout by clicking the "View Cart" button. Viewing the cart is the only way to check the price.


Note - when you click "View Cart," it can take several moments for the cart to display. Please be patient.

Once the cart is displayed, you can change the quantity (set it to zero to delete the item altogether), continue shopping, or proceed to checkout.

Clicking "Checkout" sends you to the final screen in the purchase process. Simply fill out the form, click complete order, and you are done.


STEP 4: Check order status


After you place an order, you can check on its status on the store.

1. From the home page, choose the order from the "Check My Order" drop down. Click "View Order"

2. Your order details come up. The status of your order is shown under "Order Status."


STEP 5: Favorites


The Favorites feature allows you to save items that you order frequently for ease of access. In order to use the feature, you must first create a Favorites list. Once lists are in place, you can add items to them. Once you have populated a Favorites list,, to access it again, click "Favorites" in the left menu in the "My Links" area. Then click the appropriate Favorite to get to the product(s) again quickly. Details follow:

  1. Before you can add an item to a Favorites list, you must first create the list. On the left side of the screen, click "Favorites" in the "My Links" section. You will see something like this:



  2. As shown above, enter the name of your favorites list in the box and click "Name New List."
  3. Once the list is created, you can add items to it. To do so, look for your product(s) as usual as shown in Step 2 above. Once you find the product you want to "favorite", click the "Add to Favorites" button and then indicate the list to which you want to add the item.

Once the item or items are in your favorites list, all you have to do access the items to is click "Favorites" on the left, then click your list name. The products you put into the list will appear. Then add them to the cart as usual (as detailed above).
