Registering for GE Water & Process Technologies' online tools

Registering for access to online tools is a three-step process.

Note - With the exception of the MSDS application (which is open to anyone) you will need invoice and billing information to complete this step. Details are below.

STEP 1: Accept the GE Terms & Conditions

Click on "Request new account" from the login page or click on the REGISTER link as it appears in the upper right corner of most pages on gewater.com:

Login Screen

If you have an existing GE username (called a "Single Sign On" ID or "SSO", you can bypass step 2 below. Simply click on the "Modify existing account" link form the login screen (pictured above). After accepting the terms and conditions, login with your existing GE SSO ID and password and go to step 3.

Here is what you'll see after starting the registration process:

Read through the GE Terms and Conditions, and check the acceptance box at the bottom before submitting the page.

STEP 2: Tell us about yourself

Fill out the form, which includes fields for first and last name, email address, username and the like. You will be asked to indicate a "challenge question" and response. The challenge question is used if you forget your username and/or password and serves to protect your account from prying eyes. Note - SSO accounts are not specific to GE Water & Process Technologies and can be used to login to other GE web sites, worldwide.

After you submit the form, you will be taken to a new page asking you what online tools you want to access.

STEP 3: Tell us the kind of access you want

At this point, you will be asked to choose whether you want full access to the online tools -- which requires verification that you are a customer / partner via invoice/bill-to number -- or MSDS-only access. Anyone can view the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) Library; invoice verification is not needed.

Access Type 1

MSDS - Click the "MSDS only" option and several fields will be revealed (Company Name, City, State, and so on). Fill them out, click "Finish" and you are done! NOTE: Registration is not necessary for Asia Pacific MSDS access nor for Analytical Instruments Division MSDS access.

Full - Click "Full" and you will be asked whether you are a customer of the GE Analytical Instruments Division (Sievers-, Leakwise-, and Ionics-brand instruments) or not.

Access Type 2

After you make the appropriate choice, fill out the form, click "Finish" and you are done.

Note about Invoices and Bill-to's: Non-AI (Analytical Instruments) customers and distributors are required to enter both a valid GE Invoice Number and a Bill-To Number. Providing these numbers allows GE to know that you are a valid customer. Click "Validate" after you have entered the information and the system will perform a check to ensure that they are correct.

How Do I Find My Invoice Number?: Invoice numbers are generally in the upper right corner of your invoices, like so:

How Do I Find My Bill-To Number?: Bill-To Numbers are usually on the left side of your invoices, as here:

Note about Invoices and Bill-to's: AI (Analytical Instruments) customers are not required to enter invoice or bill-to numbers.

Note on MSDS approvals: Remember, although registering as an MSDS user does not require an invoice number, neither does it provide you the ability to order online or to look up shipment or invoice status information. After submitting your information, your request for a GE account will be reviewed by your company's administrator or your GE account manager (sales representative). In the case of an MSDS account, your account will not become active until your application has been approved. Reviewers generally reply to requests within 5 business days. At that point you will receive e-mail notification of an active account.

Start the registration process.
